We Celebrate America This Holiday Season!
Event Topic: Drawing on Faith: Rediscovering America's Spiritual Roots
It is with great pleasure that we share the holidays with all of you. We are looking forward to introducing you to a political cartoonist, Gary Varvel, whose humor is not only grounded in the history of the Nation, but he’s just genuinely funny.
A national award-winning political cartoonist, Gary will showcase highlights from his 40+ year career in journalism, sharing some of his most impactful work. Through his presentation, Varvel will reflect on how returning to the spiritual roots that shaped America’s founding can inspire hope and help restore the nation’s greatness.
Gary will discuss the spiritual foundation laid by America’s Founding Fathers—a foundation rooted in faith, humility, and a firm belief in divine providence. He will explore the powerful words of leaders like George Washington, who declared, *“It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible,”* and Benjamin Franklin, who reminded the Constitutional Convention that *“God governs in the affairs of men.”*
Discover how these early patriots recognized that liberty and justice are gifts from the Creator, and how their reliance on God shaped the moral compass of a new nation. Learn how this legacy of faith continues to impact America and why acknowledging God’s hand in our history is essential for making America great again today.
