The upcoming months are going to be quite consequential for the judiciary, and especially for the Supreme Court. There are a number of issues before the court which could direct the path of the Nation for the current and future generations.
In this Townhall, Julie may address some of these impactful issues as well as topics suggested by the audience.
Trump v. Barbara (Birthright Citizenship). This historic issue has been brewing and is without doubt the most consequential immigration case of the term. At issue is whether President Trump’s Executive Order 14160 on Birthright Citizenship is in accordance with the understanding of citizenship or is in violation of the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment.
Temporary Protected Status: This case will determine the scope of Presidential authority on immigration and Constitutional limits of individuals whose residency in the US was not expected to be permanent.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: This issue continues to be an ongoing hot topic. Where do we stand with our education system - public and private universities and school districts?
Absentee Ballots: Our news cycle has been a constant source of conflicting information about safegarding elections, redistricting, recounting votes and cleaning voter records. Are there indications on how the Supreme Court may rule on this contested viewpoint.
Your Choice: Our “ASK JULIE” section is for you to bring up topics of interest.
